We were honored to spend the afternoon with Juan and Emily and their families in Port Gamble this Labor Day Weekend. Such nice people! So much love! Such a beautiful day and such a beautiful wedding. I had a hard time keeping my eyes dry! And what a wonderful place to have a wedding! I think the chapel in Port Gamble may be my new favorite chapel. I love the blue and white colors on the inside and the New England styling on the outside. They even had the horse and carriage. How romantic is that!

Cute little cafe curtains adorn the basement windows.

All Emily's girls help her get ready for her big day.

Emily was such a beauty as she takes a quite moment

Juan was overwhelmed by his bride

Emily and Juan pause for a quiet moment in the doorway of the chapel

Juan's smile says it all!

The bride and groom left in a carriage for a few minutes together.

Juan could not resist his gorgeous bride.

Back at the reception, these two had a touching first dance.

The reception rolled on into the evening next to St.Paul's Angelican Church.

It took several tries, but the girls spelled out in sparklers the theme for the evening.

Sparklers lit up the couple's exit.

Aaron and Joana came back from Utah to get married at Bangor SubBase last week. Joane grew up in the Silverdale/Bremerton area, so it was a homecoming for her. Aaron wore his navy dress uniform, as did Joana’s dad. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful wedding. Congratulations you two and have great time at your next base in Japan!

A few of the details and images from Joana's and Aarons wedding at Bangor.

My friend Steve Zugschwerdt filled in for a still healing Ned and did a great job helping me photograph Megan and Dan’s wedding at Wisteria Gardens in Port Orchard. Here is sneak peak at Megan and Dan’s wonderful, relaxed wedding. The bride was beautiful, the garden looked wonderful, the groom was so sweet, and the dancing was hilarious! Megan and Dan had one of the sweetest, most romantic dances, I have seen in quite a while. The crowd just spontaneously started a bubble storm while they danced to “Everything I do, I do it for you”, by Bryan Adams. AHWWWW! Too Sweet!!

Megan and Dan shared their first dance with their pet finch.

A bubble storm break out!

The best man was quite a party starter with his dancing!

There he goes again. Those are some strong pants!

These two, a groomsmen and the officiant, wanted to know who had the bluest eyes! I called it a tie! What do you think

The gazebo made a great place to get away for a romantic moment.

Steve caught this wonderful little moment.

Dan and Megan steal a moment for romance.

The amazing details that Megan spent so much time planning!

Family and friends pummeled the couple with bird seed at the end of the evening.

It has been almost three weeks now and I can finally bring myself to talk about it!
Ned had a terrible biking accident during the Tour de Kitsap the day after Karin and Brent’s wedding. He and a friend, Steve, were go far too fast (about 40 miles per hour according to one of the bike computers) down a hill in Scandia, having the time of their lives, when they touched wheels just before the turn. Well, they both ended up in the ditch. Ned was unconscious and pretty broken up. Thankfully, Steve faired better and was able to summon help. A nice young EMT called to tell me about it and that they were on the way to the hospital. Though he was upbeat, it did not stop me and the girls from getting a little freaked out.
In the hospital, Ned clearly had some problems. He had a pretty serious concussion and frontal lobe contusion - he could not remember the accident or the last week for that matter. His short term memory lasted about 2 minutes - just long enough for us to explain why his shoulder hurt so bad and what happened. Then he would start completely over with the same questions we had just answered and he would have exactly the same response! That was very freaky and, after we knew he would be okay, pretty funny!
Besides the memory and concussion issues, his shoulder is broke in a couple of places, he has a couple broken ribs, he has some nerve damage on his right side, hip and back, and he is still very bruised and sore.
He is actually healing pretty fast, has most of his memory back (except the accident) and has started to use his right arm again. Thank goodness he was in pretty good shape when the accident happened! I am certain that is, and will be, a major factor in his recovery.
I want to thank all the nice EMTs at the North Kitsap Fire Department, and the health workers, doctors and nurses at Harrison Hospital who took care of Ned during this very scary time.
Ned still isn’t able to get around quickly enough to cover weddings, so our friend, Steve Zugswerdt, has stepped in to fill in for him. Thank goodness for Steve! He is a wonderful photographer and has a very similar shooting style so he fits in very nicely. He captured some wonderful moments at Megan and Dan’s wedding and will be at Joana and Aaron’s wedding next week to capture some more moments.

We photographed Karin and Brent’s wedding at Brent’s parent’s home in Indianola a couple of weeks ago. The day was beautiful- not too warm, not too cold! The bride glowed, the groom grinned all day long, and the kids - big and little, got to play in a bouncy house! The wedding was filled with thoughtful little surprises for the little ones. There were toys, and coloring crayons, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and of course bubbles! Ray and Gina from Essence of the Thymes Catering cooked up a beautiful and tasty buffet. The couple created a beautiful, fun-filled and relaxed day for themselves and their guests. They even left the reception in a canoe! What a beautiful wedding. Thanks for letting us share in such a remarkable day!

My favorite delivery guy just delivered the album I designed for newborn, Nate and his parents. A couple of months ago, I photographed Nate’s mommy in her last weeks of pregnancy. Then I photographed newborn Nate in his first couple of weeks of life. After Nate’s parents picked out their favorite photos from both sessions I designed this wonderful album for them. I love the way it turned out. They wanted a warm sepia tone throughout, and it goes so well with the ostrich cover they chose. I took lots of close ups of the book so you can see the quality of craftsmanship of the Kingston Albums. I use Kingston for many of the wedding albums I design, as well. They ROCK!

Each book comes in a gift box

There is a 4x4 cut out on the cover

The pages lay flat and are mounted to stiff stock for longevity

Each page is custom designed to match the photo selection

I love the sepia tones of the album

Wow! It has been a really busy couple of weeks! Lots of sessions, designing and teaching. I thought July was going to be slow. Boy, was I in for a surprise. I’ll be trying to get some of the sessions I have been doing up for a peek. Here is a peek at soon to be wed, Emily and Juan. We met at Island Lake near Silverdale for their engagement portraits. They are such an adorable couple. Juan is just so darn sweet! I am looking forward to photographing their wedding in Port Gamble next month.

Aren’t they cute together?
