I swear getting cute umbrellas for your bridesmaids keeps the rain away! It works almost every time! So I was thrilled to see Aimee’s bridesmaids with them, and sure enough, in a week of really wet weather, the rain stopped long enough for Aimee and Kyle’s beautiful wedding in Port Gamble. Thank goodness! It was still pretty wet, so we stuck to hard surfaces for most of the photos in respect to the beautiful Jimmy Choo shoes the bride wore, and of course that gorgeous gown!

Port Gamble was decorated with lots of lights for the holidays and that made everything just a little brighter and joyful!

These two have been together for a while now, so most of the toasters could not help but mention that it was about time for wedding! The wedding could not have been sweeter, and clearly all had a great time! Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs!

Jimmy asked Berit to marry him right on the balcony next to the big yellow Chihuly glass sculpture at Union Station in Tacoma, so it makes sense that they celebrated their wedding with a reception at the spacious station.
What a beautiful location! We were able to get away for a bit and take advantage of some of the cool architecture in the area for some fun photos! Congrats to Jimmy and Berit. I hope your big day was all you hoped it would be.

It is always interesting to us how unique each couple and each wedding are. This week that uniqueness was exaggerated for us a bit when we had two weddings within seven days at Kitsap Memorial Park in Poulsbo, with brides named Megan and Meghan! Both wonderful, expressive, and fun brides, but very different in every other way. Each couple made their wedding very much their own! I think seeing those differences is just one of the reasons weddings are so much fun for me! They never get old!
The venue is just a base place! It only becomes a wedding when you add the couple, their friends and family, and amazing decor! And of course – lots of love!
Meghan and Brandon picked Kitsap Memorial Park because they loved the idea of getting married in the trees. They moved the wedding over to the trees to get as much of that feel as they could. It worked beautifully! Even with trees in the middle of rows of seats, everyone had a great view, yet it had a really cozy feel.
One of the many wonderful moments was when Meghan’s dad, a former professor, broke out his power point presentation of Meghan during the toasts! Of course!
Another highlight was the wonderfully delicious, colorful and healthy food by Molly Ward Gardens! Yum!
Congrats to Meghan and Brandon!

Photographing Megan and Tim’s wedding just made me smile all day long! First, Megan’s smile is just infectious! Second, she is an awesome combination of bad ass solider, Annie get your gun, and sweet girlie girl, which just makes me laugh! Tim is a lucky guy to get such an independent and beautiful person to share his life with. And Megan is just as lucky to get a guy who compliments her in every way. They are the sweetest combination with such chemistry! We had such fun with them doing the romantic shots, as they were pretty much up for anything!
The weather good not have been better, the ceremony sweeter, or the reception more fun! Catering was done by Essence of the Thymes, and was awesome as usual! It just all was the perfect day for this sweet couple. Make sure to check out the slide show at the end.

A wedding at Titlow Park in Tacoma is like have a wedding at a lake lodge, only it is really accessible,  because it is right in Tacoma! Even with a well traveled road nearby, you really get the feeling that you are enjoying a wedding in tall trees in the woods. Very enchanting!

This was the perfect place for Justin and Trina’s wedding. Justin asked Trina to marry him on a cliff overlooking the Narrows, so the park near the Narrows surrounded by friends and family was just the right match. Plus, when you are planning a wedding in only a month and a half, the options get narrowed a bit!. However, Trina and Justin did an awesome job putting together their late summer wedding. Trina was over the moon for her Bohemian style wedding dress and build the rest of the wedding around that style. Bridesmaids each wore their own Boho style dress in coral, which combined nicely with the guys in vests.

At the end of the day, with a little help from their friends, Trina and Justin had a wonderful, sweet wedding in the enchanted park at the lodge by the lake! Congratulations you two!

The first thing Joe ever said to Rachel was “Do you think it is strange for a single man to have a cat?” Maybe it was the unique question or maybe it was his Navy diver physic, but from there, the love story of Rachel and the diver blossomed. And yes, Joe still has the cat!
The two were married at the point of Fountain Park near the Naval Museum in Bremerton, and had their reception in the Fountain Room, operated by the Kitsap Conference Center at Harborside.
It was a sweet wedding, watched not only by the guests, but by several hundred Bremerton ferry passengers and one or two tugboats and, of course, the Coast Guard – whose captain tooted the horn when he saw the first kiss!
Congrats to Joe and Rachel! Stay for the slide show at the end!

The weather may have been a bit grey, but the smiles of the couple and their family were bright as Patrick and Wendy started out their ceremony. There were a few raindrops, but not enough to scare anyone! It is after all, Washington!

It is so great when we have an fabulous couple, at an fabulous venue, with an awesome caterer and a rockin’ DJ. I always know it is going to be a great day. Port Gamble is such a beautiful place to have a wedding no matter what the weather is, and Essence of the Thymes always provides the best food! GenXpro always provides great sound for both the ceremony and the reception, indoors and out. This combination of awesome wedding vendors really is the dream team, and Patrick and Wendy are such a sweet couple, they deserved a wonderful wedding day.

My favorite thing about the wedding, though, was Wendy’s vintage wedding dress! She wore her mom’s wedding dress from 30 years ago! How special is that!

Here are some of the highlights of the day. Watch the slide show at the end for more
Congrats to Wendy and Patrick! May your future be as bright as your smiles!

It is not often that we photograph a wedding for a couple that has known each other since the first grade! They even had a crush on each other way back then! They truly are made for each other.
Their wedding at Cedar Springs in Port Orchard was beautifully elegant. “The most elegant wedding I’ve seen here”, said one of the wait staff.
They were surrounded by fantastic friends and fabulous family members throughout the day! An indicator of the closeness of the family is when they did the anniversary dance; two couples remained on the dance floor that had reached the 60th anniversary mark! Both were grand parents of the couple! Now that is solid stock! Congratulations to Emily and Quincy – may you dance at the wedding of your own grandchildren in 60 years!

August is such a beautiful time for weddings. Brides need to plan almost a year in advance if they want to have a wedding in August at some of the most beautiful venues like Kiana Lodge! Sharee and Jake did just that. We did their engagement session last October and right away we noticed a wonderful chemistry between them. On their wedding day, that chemistry was there again. The minute Sharee saw her man waiting for her, a little smile crept over her face and stayed plastered there all night! I am pretty sure Jake’s cheeks hurt by the end of the night as he was the same way! So cute!
Jared from Gen X Pro had the place rocking, while guest danced and snacked on fresh frozen ice cream.
Here is a peek at the events of the day! Stay for the slide show at the end!

Backyard weddings are the best! They are always just a bit more casual, and just a bit more unique, and just a bit more fun! Maybe because folks are just a bit more comfortable. John and Breana spent lots of time and money sprucing up the landscaping and putting down bark in all the right places. The grounds looked awesome, and they get to enjoy it for more than just one day!
The biggest surprise for many probably was John’s awesome voice. After the ceremony and after the first dance, John started the Karaoke part of the evening and blew the crowd away with his singing. That was quickly followed up by some friends who could really rock it!
It took these two a while to finally say “I do”, but when they did, they really nailed it! Congrats to Breana and John!

Make sure to check out the slide show after the photos.
