I am so excited to finally share Ryan’s proposal to Christine at Kiana Lodge. OMG! How adorable! I was so excited when Ryan called to ask me to photograph his proposal. This guy is an amazing planner! We did a walk through of how he wanted it to go several weeks before the actual proposal. I fully expected him to be so excited that he would forget everything we talked about, yet he pulled it off just as we had planned!

So, I hid in the bushes, trying to blend in and popped out when I saw him drop to one knee. I was able to get several shots before Christine even knew what was happening. I don’t think she even saw me for the first 5 minutes, as she was so focused on Ryan.

Thanks Ryan, for letting us share this special moment! It was amazing!

It is the time of year that brings graduations and sweet memories of little children now grown up and ready to start new adventures. I have enjoyed getting to know some of the nicest seniors in the county! Here are just a few we have photographed this season. Congrats to all and best wishes for a bright future!

Photographing seniors in the spring and fall is right up there with my favorite sessions to do! I love experimenting with their ideas and the light, and making them feel like a model for a few hours. And when your senior is a beautiful and creative as Cassie, well, that just makes it even more fun! This session was at Manchester State Park in the morning light.

Cassie participates in Running Start at Olympic College, and is looking forward to graduation and a new journey. Congratulations to her!

There is still a little time to get in a few more senior sessions, so if you haven’t had your done yet, give me a call, and let’s go out and play. We can go on location in Silverdale, Bremerton, Port Orchard, Gig Harbor, Poulsbo, or Bainbridge Island, or where ever in Kitsap County you want to go. 2016 seniors, you will get a discount if you schedule your senior portrait session in July!

We are so excited to announce that two wonderful award winning Northwest artists are bringing their skills together and will take over our studio with interactive art at Aubin Ahrens Photography on 11th and Scott from 5-8 during the October 3, 2014 Manette Art Walk.

Jane Friedman will bring her skills with encaustics and oils to at least 3 large canvases, while metal sculptor, Jeff Oens will add metal and glass to create amazing interactive three-dimensional elements to the art pieces that will inquire about memory and technology. The two have spent weeks working on pieces for this show and I am so excited to see their final art displayed in our studio.

Jane Friedman is a Northwest artist focusing on nature, humans and human nature. Born in Iowa and reborn professionally in Alaska, Jane now makes Bremerton, Washington her home. Jane completed her BFA at the University of Alaska, Anchorage, where she received “Best of Show” for her final series of paintings, From Innocence to Experience. Since that time, Jane frequently was featured in solo and group shows in Anchorage, including Stonington Gallery, and the International Gallery of Contemporary Art.

Jane also exhibited her work in solo shows at the Alaska State Museum in Juneau and the Anchorage Museum of History and Art, where her work is part of the permanent collection. She also enjoys teaching art to children and learning from them in the process.

Jeff Oens is a metal sculptor with work placed in corporate office buildings, and private home throughout the country, but predominately in the Northwest, Alaska and Colorado. One of the five metal moose he created will be on display in Manette as well as some of Jeff’s work with metal orbs.

Make sure to stop by during the October 3rd Manette Art walk from 5-8 to seem their amazing work – and of course, share a glass of wine with us! See you there!

Jane and Jeff discuss the three dimensional elements that will be added to her encaustic and oil pieces.

What a wonderful age – about to graduate and take the world by storm! Oh to be that age again! What would you do different? Me? Nothing! Everything I did then lead me to where I am today. There were ups and downs, but what a great life and journey it has been! I only hope this gorgeous young lady will be able to look back in several years and say the same.
We had such a good time doing her senior portraits, that we may have overdid it a bit. We had great light and a great model, so it was a little tempting to just keep shooting! Here are just a few of Kristina’s favorites.

Just a few years ago, we photographed this couple getting married! And here they are, a wonderful little family, now! I love seeing the family and kids grow! And such an adorable family, too!

I totally loved working with this family, photographing their sweet little girl. She is the first for this couple and she immediately had them all totally enchanted! Already her little personality is showing through! She has a strong spirit and is going to be a strong young lady. I look forward to watching her grow!

Like so many of the couples I do maternity sessions for, this is Bill and Lynda’s first baby and their excitement is just contagious! Lynda is  the poster child for the glow of pregnancy!  She is just gorgeous!

This is such a fun time to photograph a family! There is so much expectation, hope, and happiness! It is quite adorable and I just love it!

I am so looking forward to doing the newborn session with this new family! Check back in a few weeks to meet their new little girl!

As we entered the old lodge at Kiana Lodge on that rainy day a few weeks ago, it was as if we dropped back in time a few decades. There was Joe – dressed to the nines – looking like he was getting ready to film a scene from the Godfather -Northwest version! I loved that Joe dressed in his “gangster” best – including the hat, and that his lady – Michelle matched him style for style! We are so looking forward to Joe and Michelle’s wedding at Kiana Lodge in May. These two are so much fun!
They also braved the rain for some cool weather shots. These two rock! Congratulations guys!

It has been so much fun photographing 2012 seniors. They all have such great futures, and great opportunities ahead of them. And, so far — they all ROCK!!! Here are a few from recent weeks.
